Clipping can be used to remove an object in order to be placed in front of a coloured or a transparent background or even on another image. As a result, people, objects and backgrounds can be removed from the image. It is possible to insert additional image information — such as vector paths or layer masks — to continue working with them later. The most common reason for clipping an image is to draw a customers' attention to a product, like on an online store or website, as the background could take focus from the product.
